“I Have Never Seen so Much Wildlife in One Place!”

“Half way through this week and we have already seen so much. Schools of hammerheads all around us, 7 mantas and a whale shark on the first day. Today we saw a school of 30 baby Galapagos around us for 10 minutes. When they say Socorro is unique they mean it! I am eager to see what we will see the next couple of days!!”

– Felipe, Dive Guide aboard the Explorer

“As soon as we descended there were schooling fish all over the place. We went around the corner and a hammerhead appeared; before we could take that in, an oceanic manta was hot on its tail! W continued along the reef being impressed by one, then two then five, then more and more hammerheads appear out of the blue all around. Looking up, behind to the side in front you, hammerheads everywhere. I never expected this in the slightest.

The crowning moment of the dive was when our guide Grettel was even visibly excited, because a 6 meter whale shark emerged form behind the rock, all lit up in-front of the sun. It was a cinematic experience as it cruised up over and past the group. You never knew what to look at, I haven’t even mentioned the silky, silver-tip, and galapagos sharks!”

“Diving today at El Canyon was spectacular – my mind is blown! I’ve never seen so much wildlife in one place. On one dive we saw schooling hammerheads, silvertips, galapagos sharks, giant mantas, and even a whale shark! These are the best dives I’ve ever done and can’t wait to see what else this trip brings.”
