The Cleaning Stations Were Loaded With up to 15 Sharks!

We had an amazing trip with Nautilus! The check in process was seamless. The dive guides were focused on safety and we could tell they truly love their profession! They made us incredibly comfortable and their enthusiasm was wonderful. Wildlife was treated with respect and care. They allowed us to stay down as long as we had air and felt safe (up to the one hour limit). We did not have to exit the water with other divers who had run low on air. The captain visited everyone each night to make sure we were having a great time and to describe the plan for the next day. The food was amazing and the hosts knew us by name after the first meal. Post dive hot chocolates were a nice touch.

The diving was some of the best in the world!! We saw hundreds of hammerhead sharks that were not as shy as other locations. Best dive sites for hammerheads on our trip were the Boiler and El Canyon. One dive at el canon we were in the middle of the school for 20 minutes. They would pass us curiously and move peacefully on. We saw whale sharks every dive at Roca Partida that would pass us several times in a dive. One did at least 5 passes during the dive. One had an escort of 8 dolphins that seemed to be showing off and flirting with us. The shark cleaning stations were loaded with 5 to 15 sharks. Silver tips, white tips, Galapagos and hammers patiently waiting their turn and moving so close to us we could have touched them (but of course did not). The mantas were very curious and would pass our group many times flirting with each of us. It was amazing to feel a connection with such an intelligent and inquisitive animal. We saw friendly mantas on nearly every dive!

This was our third time diving Socorro. We plan on repeating many times with Nautilus!!!!
