Then this huge shark showed up from the deep blue water, her name is Buttercup, she must be 18 feet long or so and the girth is just impressive, she came around enough times so some of the guests got pictures and that is how we ID her.

I have been walking with shame, being honest I probably gave a shark a “brain freeze”. As soon as I put the bait in the water a shark went by at a high speed and took it, I did not stand a chance, in my defense, the glare in the low light conditions is a killer.

Yesterday we finished our day with good action, a couple of sharks were trying to get the bait some of them got it but some of them did not but is part of the game.

Today has been amazing, with many sharks around, a massive female is hanging around with us. Andy the male shark is here with us too and for a couple of minutes, we could see some dolphins at the surface. In total, we have been watching more than 10 sharks of different sizes.

Today the day is good so far, we have all the cages full and on the surface, we have two sharks that are trying to get the bait. The weather is beautiful, the crew is doing a good job with the wrangling and helping in the dive deck.

Around 2300hrs we departed La Ventana and headed north to Las Animas. The ride was smooth and we anchored at 0700 this morning. Two dives are done so far, both very good, with guests enjoying the topography and the playful sea lions.

We arrived at 0630 this morning after a smooth overnight run from Cabo and we did our first two dives in Punta Arena de La Ventana, good dives, lots of fish, nice conditions.
