We finished on a very high note yesterday afternoon, with great action right up to the very end of cage activities. The conditions were absolutely pristine the entire time. All cages were out of the water and we were underway by 1730 for our run back to Ensenada. Overnight conditions were great, with just a bit of NW seas rocking us to sleep. We never saw anything over 6 feet.

Two dives were completed here at Las Animas this morning and both were great, with a small school of around 10 hammerheads around on the first dive (north rock) and several individuals around on dive two on the east pinnacles.

Two dives were completed at Los Islotes today, always a crowd pleaser with lots of playful sea lions to entertain. We were hoping to get to Suwanee this afternoon however the wind and swell conditions over there are too rough, so instead we are doing dive 3 at Fang Ming and we’ll do our 4th dive (twilight/night) at San Rafaelito outside the park.

Seems like most of the sharks are preferring to stay down in the distance below us for some reason, but we’ve had a couple of juveniles making occasional active runs at the bait. All the guests are having a great first day and excited for more to come.

The Magdalena Bay Sardine Run was a total blast! We saw bait balls, tons of marlin, sea lions and even spent some time diving with humpback whales. Of course, none of this would’ve been possible without the amazing crew and all of their hard work.

Today has been the best day of the trip so far. Shark activity started on the surface almost as soon as we started tossing bait, and on the second dive of the morning, we’re pretty sure we spotted eight-ten different individuals, including three very large females and the smallest white shark I’ve ever seen. she was less than six feet for sure.

The second dive we did at the eastern pinnacles the group dropped down and right away encountered a small school of hammerheads, approx 8-10 loosely schooling, with several little groups spread out here and there. Because of the viz and conditions, everyone was able to get close enough for a good view and exciting encounter.
