Day #1. Dive #1. The check dive. It’s boring…Your weights aren’t quite right, your left ear is a bit blocked, you’ve put your SMB on the wrong side. You soldier on. Not in the Canyon on San Benedicto.
On THIS check dive, you are surrounded by half a dozen curious cruising silvertips, a couple of whitetips, a big scalloped hammerhead, and an enormous moray. Oh and just when you thought safety stops were also boring, a giant chevron manta decides to show up and play with you, circling, diving and swooping. Who said check dives had to be boring?!
