This is our last day of diving on our combo trip. Great white shark cage diving at Guadalupe island, and Socorro island. It could not get better than today.
Starting at the Canyon at San Benedicto, we got to the cleaning station at 80ft where we spotted a hammerhead shark! Then I decided to go behind the school of jacks and we encountered a whole school of hammerhead sharks, it was great! We then moved to the Boiler, a pinnacle on the east side of the island, where the magic started a 70ft. A pod of dolphins surrounded us for a couple of minutes, then left and came back again. At the same time a chevron Manta made his approach.
Our third dive of the day was frenetic, with encounters of not one, but two whale sharks, one of them bigger than I had seen in my many years of diving. Then a dance with the Mantas began. One black and one Chevron in very shallow water, 30ft, and we had a nice 60 minutes dive.
Water temperature ranged between 80F to 82F, the current was very mild. Now it is time to go back to shore but the good thing is, I’m back next trip.
