DM Ana Marina’s Dive Cabo Report

Dive 3 at Cabo Pearce.

We started the dive at the north side of the site. As soon as we entered the water, we encountered a hammerhead shark, like 5-6 meters away. It went away to the blue, and then we started going south by the wall. Visibility was over 40 meters on the north side, and no current at all, after 15 min. dive.

We got to the cleaning station and the current was coming from south-east side. We were holding the rocks to stay on place, and trying to see as far as we could. The visibility on the south side wasn’t as good, I’ll say maybe 15-25 meters. Anyway, we spent maybe 5 min. there and decided to back to the north side, to save from current and looking forward for better visibility.

After a little while, from far, there were 3 mantas: 1 female and 2 males going after her. Since the beginning, one of the male kind of left, or went to deeper and stay away most of the time, while the female and the black male were doing their dance around us for over 15 minutes. The female was leading and the black male was following her very close.

Then we went up for the safety stop they stayed with us for a minute or two, and then they disappeared. Everybody came up with big smiles to the surface. Happy divers all around!
