Another two good days of diving at Roca Partida. This time we had really good encounters with Galapagos and silvertip sharks during the afternoon dives. It is possible to see a different behavior of the sharks at this time of day; their movement becomes more intense as they attempt to catch their food. In particular, the silky sharks were behaving very opportunistically to catch any leftovers from the tuna that were hunting near the surface. The whitetip sharks – that are usually resting on the balconies – were all over the place this afternoon. We also saw at least five massive yellowfin tuna going around the rock hunting the shoals of small fish.
Now our guests are enjoying a beautiful sunset with some cocktails on the top deck and watching some humpback whales breaching. A perfect ending to a perfect day.
