Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2022-05-11

Location: The Canyon

Weather: Clear Skies, WNW Wind (8kts), Swell (1-3ft)

We finished two more dives yesterday at Boiler. Surface conditions were challenging for the entire day, especially when boarding/disembarking the skiffs, but all divers did well and divemasters did a good job of moving gear safely. Both afternoon dives were good, with mellow conditions in the water and manta activity on both. All the divers really enjoyed the day. After the dives, we moved back to the canyon and had our taco night on the sundeck. Nice quiet night at anchor.

This morning we have the canyon to ourselves and conditions have been good. A bit windy during dive one, but underwater things are nice and calm. Good action at the cleaning station, and all divers have had up-close views of Galapagos, silvertips, and some scattered hammerheads. The day is off to a great start. We will do two more dives here today and then move to Cabo Pearce for diving tomorrow.

Water temperature: 73°F

Visibility: 80ft
