Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2022-09-01

Location: Espiritu Santo Archipelago

Weather: Clear Skies, E Wind (10-15kts), X Swell (ft)

Today we were at Espiritu Santo, we dove Los Islotes and Fang Ming. The wind was light from the west in the morning, changing to easterly in the afternoon.

We had a great day of diving today, with Josie and Cuco from BEX in the Pato Buzo helping us around Espiritu Santo Island. Today was the first day that Los Islotes opened again for the summer and there were lots of young sea lion pups, playful as always. Also some big schools of sardines. The Fang Ming had lots of fish and it was turtle central, with lots of hawksbill turtles living around the artificial reef.

Tonight we are anchored inside the bay of La Paz near Pichilingue, to be tucked out of the strong easterlies forecast from tropical depression passing south of Cabo tonight and tomorrow and we’ll dive San Rafaelito tomorrow before doing turn day in La Paz on Saturday.

Water temperature: 83°F

Visibility: 66ft
