Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2022-09-05

Location: Las Animas

Weather: Overcast Skies, N Wind (5kts) NNW Swell (2ft)

The first dive we did was at El Bajo de San Francisco, the seamount that is a couple of miles east of Isla San Francisco. It was a great dive and everyone really enjoyed it. Big schools of yellow snapper, some groupers, several turtles, schools of bait fish, and lots of coral.

After that, we came up to Las Animas and completed one dive here on the east rocks. Another beautiful dive. Some sea lions around but not a whole lot at that site, but lots and lots of fish all around that reef, and the guests enjoyed it.

Planning two more dives here at Las Animas this afternoon then heading south to anchor at Ensenada Grande tonight and planning 4 dives around Espiritu Santo and potentially San Rafaelito in the afternoon tomorrow. After the 4th dive, we will head into the API dock downtown and remain secured there until conditions improve.

Visibility: 65ft

Water temperature: 82°F
