Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady- 2022-10-04

Location: Isla Montserrat

Weather: Clear Skies, S Wind (10kts), S Swell (2ft)

This morning we did two dives at the north end, the first dive at Las Galeras and 2nd at Bajo Sandia, a couple of miles north of the island. Both dives were very good, with very cool topography, lots of reef fishes, and beautiful visibility today. At lunchtime, we moved to the south end and we’re diving a reef right at the south tip of the lighthouse, a nice reef that sits at around 40-50′, with nice fish life and some healthy soft corals and sea fans. And just as I’m writing this I can see a big pod of bottlenose dolphins hanging around the rhib and the divesite, so hoping the divers get to see them on their dive.

After the last dive we’ll head to Isla Coronados and we’re planning two-morning dives there tomorrow and then for the afternoon we’ll run 6NM to NE Carmen Island for our 2-afternoon dives. Tomorrow night we’ll run south to Las Animas.

Water temperature: 84°F

Visibility: 80ft
