We Spend the Day at One of My Favorite Places

After the dives, we picked up anchor and when we were on our way to the next anchorage we spotted a big pod of bottlenose dolphins. What was amazing about this encounter was that there were just playing in one spot. We went over with the inflatables and we went snorkeling with them. This time the dolphins seemed to be pleased with the presence of the snorkelers and stayed around for more than an hour and a half. Swimming right next to us.

It Was a Very Fun and Safe Dive

We took some time to get down and clear their ears but after that everything was incredible fun! They enjoyed the good visibility and warm water of Las Animas Island. We dove into the shallow reef next to the sea lion colony where we could swim and interact with some sea lions and got to see very close the big males.

The First Time Being Part of a Trip to the Sea of Cortez

The dives have been really nice. I did not expect to dives to be so nice. I love finding small creatures to show to our guests and here I have plenty of opportunities to do this. We have found a lot of nudibranchs and even a seahorse. Besides diving and snorkeling with a big pod of dolphins, the landscapes are breathtaking. I love to see the desert mountains right next to all the different colors of blue and turquoise of the sea. And then the sunsets, one of the most beautiful I have ever seen.

We Had Another Awesome Dive

Other than all the other colorful fish, like Cortez Angel Fish, Snappers, Butterfly fish amongst others. But what made the dive were the three turtles scratching themselves on the bow area. Now we go to a shallow reef to see if we can find some Nudibranch.

More than six different whale sharks were feeding around the panga and the divers were able to get some close encounters with these 20 to 30 feet long harmless and beautiful sharks, an unforgettable experience for all of them!
