Greeted by the large resident female tiger shark

FROM ALDO, NAUTILUS UNDERSEA DIVEMASTER

9th April – Today was our first day of diving here at Revillagigedo and it feel so good to be back on board. The Canyon at San Benedicto did not fail to impress once gain. The water was clear and a slight current was taking us on a westerly direction. Chevron mantas greeted us as we entered the water on the first dive followed by dusky sharks, silver tips, silky sharks, hammerheads, and more mantas. Taco night courtesy of Chef Andrea was nothing short of spectacular and our divers are happy and looking forward to the Boiler tomorrow. I expect nothing but fun dives and satisfied divers on this trip.

14th April – The diving at Revillagigedo has been unpredictable so far. We had few manta sightings after a full day at the Boiler and plenty of action at the Canyon. Punta Tosca was acceptable with dolphin and turtle sightings, but I must say we had a most excellent treat at Cabo Pearce yesterday. we did two afternoon dives and were greeted by the large resident female tiger shark at the beginning of the dive followed y a few hammerheads. We drifted out with the current and finished off surrounded by a school of literally hundreds of skip jack tunas being stalked by silky sharks.

by the large resident female tiger shark”

The last dive started really good as we decided to enter in the blue, downstream from the reef formation and were immediately approached by a pod of curious bottlenose dolphins who accompanied us all the way to the edge of the wall. There was plenty of photo and video opportunities for all the divers, but it was not over. A large school of scalloped hammerheads cruised above us as we were interacting with the dolphins and the large female tiger shark passed by close to the surface as we prepared for our safety stop. Today was not very impressive at Roca Partida. The dives were great and the divers enjoyed it very much but I just expected more marine life to make Roca Partida stand out. The sharks and schooling jacks and yellowfin tuna were around but I guess am just used to seeing much more. Tomorrow will be our last day of diving on this trip and I look forward to ending the week with some magnificent dive conditions and plenty of marine life.

“The highlight of the trip
was a large adult male whale shark cruising at the Canyon “

16th April – We have wrapped up our 7 days of diving at Revillagigedo and we ended with a bang. The highlight of the trip was a large adult male whale shark cruising at the Canyon on our third dive yesterday. Plenty of photo and video opportunities for our divers. The weather has been very nice and our sail day back to port is smooth and laid back for our guests.

I’m looking forward to the next trip!
