Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2021-12-14

Location: The Boiler

Weather: Clear Skies, N Wind (10-15kts), Swell (3-5ft)

Had a good finish to the day yesterday with more schooling hammerheads and a tiger shark at the Canyon. Right after our last dive we pulled the hook and ran up to anchor near the Boiler to have the first choice for dive times for today. We are doing 3 dives only so 10, 1300, and 1600. Two dives are done so far and it’s manta soup down there. Appears to be mating time for the mantas, there are a lot of males hanging around very close to one or two females.

The conditions are beautiful here.

Planning to stay at San Benedicto tomorrow. Not sure yet exactly what dive sites we’ll do but maybe start again here at the Boiler and head to the Canyon after. We’ll see. Tomorrow night we’ll head to Socorro.

Water temperature: 88°F

Visibility: 80ft
