Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2022-03-23

Location: The Boiler

Weather: Partly Cloudy Skies, NW Wind (8kts), Swell (6ft)

The diving platform was a bit tricky this morning but the weather is improving for the best, we put all hands on deck to keep the safety of guests, we do have a young group and they have no issues getting in and out of the skiffs,

Diving is good, a whole pod of dolphins has been the highlight of the dives so far, humpback whales around performing a good show flapping their tails on the surface and jumping almost completely out of the water, divers, and crew hoping for the whales to make it to the dive site.

Mantas are around but they are not playing, one group saw a group of at least 20 Galapagos sharks down deep, a few hammerheads, and a big turtle. As I write there is a group of guests debating to see if what they saw was a huge Galapagos or a medium size tiger shark.

Water temperature: 74°F

Visibility: 80ft
