The highlight of the day were by far the Humpback Whales. They were everywhere!! We saw a mum and calf swimming trough the protected bay and several more could be observed from the Explorer and also from the skiffs on the way to and from the dive site. And their singing was with us the whole dives sounding loud and beautiful.

On the first dive, the checkout dive, we had some awesome encounters with 3 different Chevron Mantas and total of 4 Hammerheads and of course the usual things like Lobsters, Whitetip sharks and lots of Stingrays. On the second dive we started at Manta Rock. As soon as we got down there was a playful Chevron Manta. While we were looking at is another one showed up to check us out.

The second dive here at Punta Tosca started out shallow on the most beautiful reef I have seen, full of all kinds of colorful reef fish and big coral heads. Once we headed out a little deeper we encountered a school of hundreds of bicolor parrot fish…

As soon as we hit the water we have perfect Roca conditions, a mild current and an awesome visibility… guess what we almost jumped on a Manta! Hahaha, welcome to Roca Partida! This Manta stayed with us half of the dive and came closer and closer, almost touching some of the divers, standing still above some of them and interacting “hard”! That Manta left broken hearts behind her wing beats…

All around the islands of the Archipelago of Revillagigedo we have the chance to have different groups of dolphins and meeting them underwater is very common, as they swim up to us, clicking and cheering and eager for a human watching tour! it is not rare to see a mum and her calf swimming up to the diver, the calf a little bit shy at first, glued to the side of its mum, as she circles the divers.

Here in Revillagigedo, we are diving in Cabo Pearce with the sound of the whales all dive long. It is the best soundtrack you can hope for a dive, believe me. Humpback whales have actually a song, that is made of various distinct noises that they repeat in a sequence.

I waited with excitement, that the divers come back from the depth hopefully with the image of a swimming whale! And so did two of them: Luigi and his father Francesco! Happy as kids, they even snapped a video of the whale on their gopro and had one of the best moment in their life!
