The crew did a fantastic job on turnaround yesterday afternoon and we were embarking guests by 2130, preparatory to steaming back out to the Guadalupe great white sharks. We’re hoping to be the only charter boat out there, although it is very likely that the sailing yacht Galatea and the motor yacht Prima Donna will be onsite by the time we get back to Guadalupe.

Sharks, sharks, and more sharks were around day after day with Bruce and Shredder being especially cooperative and helpful. It almost seemed that by day 3 they were more interested in circling around our cages than going after the tuna bait!
Read MoreExcellent white shark diving this morning! Bruce showed up at 0640 and by 0730, we had 4 great white sharks off the boat. Lots of breaching going on today for some reason… One of the guests watched Bruce make a couple of passes by the cage and then go deep before turning around and flinging himself out of the water with 3 quick flips of his tail.
Read MoreWe saw 3 blue whales an hour ago!! Of course, we stopped and watched them for a while. I thought that 40-ton humpback whales were big but these guys are enormous. Their bodies just seemed to go on and on as they prepared to “tail fluke” and do their deep dives.

Read MoreOur new cages are working really well, and are far more stable than the ones we used last year. I’m really pleased with them. Sturdy gangplanks, DUI weight harnesses and 25ft whips on the 2nd stage regulators are all big improvements as well.
