The inspiring Kelp forests of San Benitos

Thick, healthy kelp sprouting up from a rocky bottom full of cracks and crevices to explore, surrounded by water a deep blue colour, broken only by the suns rays as they penetrate the overhead canopy. Add to this picture a half a dozen playful young sea lions zipping effortlessly around, above, below you. Then hovering in mid water inches from your cameras dome port as they inspect their reflection, before torpedoing away so quickly it seems almost impossible.

Today we were lucky enough to observe 3 non-predatory breaches near the Nautilus. Sept 10, 2011 – Isla Guadalupe, Baja California, Mexico

Just wrapped up two days of great cage diving with the mighty white sharks of Guadalupe. Two days of 100 ft plus visibility, beautiful sunny weather, lots of white sharks, and the anchorage all to ourselves. A brief visit from a Mexican Navy patrol vessel was our only encounter with another vessel for the two days of diving.
