Today we started the day looking for mobulas around LaVentana, we had wonderful help from the plane, they found the mobulas in the Bahia de Los Muertos. We spent a wonderful time snorkeling with the mobulas, all of our guests were so happy about it, they just came out from the water with an amazing smile, after we finish with the mobulas we did a dive in Punta Perico.

Did Someone Say Orca?

Never seen an orca ever in my life, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Spotting them was a 50/50 chance during our 7-night and 8-day expedition. Knowing that going in, there was a possibility we might not see them and accepted that. I was really hoping that we were able to see them. Looking for them in such a vast open ocean can be looking for a needle in a haystack. I remained optimistic.

At first, we didn’t really pay much attention to it, but after zooming in with my telephoto, I told Katie that I did not see a boat, and she quickly turned the plane to go check it out. As we got closer, to our surprise, we could then tell clearly that it was a megapod of dolphins. Hundreds and hundreds of them swimming in unison quite quickly headed up north towards Espiritu Santo Island.
