I saw countless oceanic mantas, dolphins, and seven species of shark, silky, Galapagos, white tip reef, oceanic blacktip, silvertip, scalloped hammerhead, and tiger. While I love to visit new places, Socorro will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will continue to return.
Read Moreoday we proved why again. As soon as we started to go down we saw the first manta. A short while later another manta showed up. And then the rest of the manta clan showed up. All of a sudden we had five mantas circling us for the rest of the dive.

Although we had to reschedule our travel plan due to an unexpected storm coming from the south, we spent the first two days in Magdalena bay snorkeling with Marlins, humpback whales, and dolphins. It was amazing to get such a great opportunity and it was totally worth the delay! Those followed by three full days of diving in San Benedicto, Socorro Island, and Roca Partida.
