Hammerheads & other amazing sharks!

Ian, Barbs, Liam, Boyce, Pat, Elaine, Ray:

Today we saw lots of hammerheads, Silvertips, Baby whitetips, and lots of other amazing Sharks.

Martin made all our dives today very special. The conditions can be challenging but it’s all worth it. The team can’t do enough for you and their knowledge is fantastic. We even had a trivia quiz tonight at dinner which was hilarious.

Great diving, good company and amazing memories to take home (not to mention fantastic videos/photos).

So, we have reached the end of our trip and it has been memorable. The team is amazing, everyone works so hard to make your experience special and to make sure you are safe, happy and having the best experience possible. Nothing is too much trouble.

The food is amazing. Varied, fresh and with choices for all tastes. I have had the best steak ever – fabulous. The Dive Masters and Hosts are superb. Knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I can honestly say I have never been better looked after.

As for the diving, it lived up to all hopes. Such friendly Mantas!! I was not quite prepared for eye contact and such big love…if you are thinking about this trip do not hesitate.
Happy times.

Hi this is Mayo your divemaster onboard the Nautilus Explorer. Let me tell you that today at Roca Partida we did have an awesome dive.

We did see a big school of sharks, most of were Galapagos, Silvertips and 2 or 3 Hammerheads. I believe more than 100. We were around Roca Partida and there was almost no current. There were so many jacks, white tips sharks, skip jacks, tunas and more. This happened on our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th dives, yes, I am not lying to you!

Nelson, one of our guests, came to talk to me after our 2nd dive. He said, “Mayo the dives were just perfect and so awesome, but do you think it will be possible to see a Whale Shark?”
I answered jokingly, “Nelson, no problem I will give him a phone call and tell you want to see him ok?” LOL

We did not see it in our 3rd dive. But, guess what happened? A Whale Shark came in our last dive of the day… I will post tomorrow of his selfie with the whale shark, for now I send you this picture… It was super fun and amazing. Nelson had such a great time and was so happy.

I can not wait to be back to Roca in our next trip, we are moving to Socorro tonight, mantas are waiting for us there.
