  • “It felt like being right in a National Geographic documentary”

“This is the calmest ocean I’ve ever seen out here, and I’ve been on countless trips to Socorro”, chef Steve on the Gallant Lady announced, while serving an absolute delicious breakfast. Only moments later, Captain Adrian interrupted our meal, announcing dolphins through the radio. Everybody rushed out on deck, to witness a unique natural spectacle. Bottlenose dolphins were jumping out of the water as far as we could see, surrounding us and following us at the tip of the boat.

  • Nautilus : Always clean and fresh

I am amazed by the crew of this boat, these guys have been doing a great job during the whole time! Our rooms are always clean, fresh towels every two days, the boat gets washed every day and so on… and moreover, they do all this without you even knowing! They are like ghosts, never annoying or intrusive. A big thank you for making our stay so perfect – Carolina Wymann

  • Time flies when watching sharks

Time files! Our first liveaboard trip for the great whites is going to have a happy ending soon…In the previous days we have had a wonderful time with the crews and the great white sharks! The crew members are great, they woke up early around 6:00 am everyday and started to bait the sharks. The better thing is they have a secret tuna soup for attracting the great whites, which brings us a close shot with the sharks! All the foods & beverage drinks are amazing as well as the fantastic hot tub. So in Chinese, this trip is “Ta Ma De Bang!” 😛 – Chen Jiabin (Calvin) P.R.China

  • A visit from Slashfin, the great white shark.

First dive on the last day was by far the best yet. Slashfin was around for the entire dive and we were even lucky enough to see a fur seal diving and dancing among the mackerel. Can’t wait to get back into the water! –Michael G. & Casey G. Absolutely amazing trip, the experience of a lifetime! Every time we got in the cage we got a shark, sometimes more than one, at one point four at the same time! Highlights include seeing Stella, Slashfin, and of course the curious big female (as yet not in the book) who showed up day 2 and stayed at our cage for a while, coming in close…majestic! Whilst the main attraction is, of course, the sharks, the real superstars are the crew! They looked after us so well and worked hard to ensure we got the full great white shark experience. We were also lucky to have a shark environmentalist on board, as well as a divemaster with a degree in marine biology, so plenty of people to ask shark questions. All of the crew are as passionate and excited about the sharks as us! Highly recommend this trip! –Lara, Mark & Gordon…

  • Happy Birthday Divemaster Mirko!

    * Happy Birthday to Divemaster Mirko!!! * So today is my birthday and I found myself working at Isla Guadalupe. Most of the people around the world would have to say, “What a nightmare working on your celebration day!” But hey! I have been surrounded by great whites today – at least 10 different individuals, and my happiness is shared with 23 guests and an awesome crew. I have nothing to complain about, for I am in the best spot I can be, having a blast living and providing the best experience you can have, seeing the biggest predator on earth feeling fearless, and just admiring his perfection. – Divemaster Mirko

  • Unidentified Male Shark?

A good morning ended around 10 am when the sharks disappeared for a few hours. When we got in the lower cages at 12:50 the action was starting to get better, and we had an awesome 30 minutes with 4 sharks making the rounds down deep. We were constantly on our toes spinning around to find where they were coming from next. The a few of the sharks stayed around most of the day, including Sad Face, and a male we have not yet ID’d, though it has two identifiable scars on its back currently. Afternoon action on the surface cages was a bit bouncy, but many people stuck it out getting some good viewing of Sad Face and the other male. – Rob Bortolin Today was an amazing day!!! We saw at least 6 different sharks including one huge female and managed to catch multiple sharks in the same photo circling from opposite directions. Both submersible cages had a ton of activity in the morning which seemed to switch to the surface cages in the afternoon. The perfect compromise was switching the submersible cages to about 15 feet in the afternoon so that all cages had an incredible view…

  • Sharks, Dolphins, Weather…Steak?

Today was our 2nd day at Guadalupe, great day, we did see about 8 different individual great white sharks, as well as 7 dolphins and 2 turtles. The topography of the island is beautiful with clouds being born and cascading down the dramatic cliff faces into the sea, it is incredible weather with very calm seas. At dinner our guest say they do not want to go back to port, I think is not for the sharks, it was because Kike our chef makes a delicious steak…though I enjoyed the desserts more! Tomorrow will be the last day with these guests. I look forward to meeting our new guests, and seeing the same faces over and over… – DM Mayo
