I can’t believe the wildlife we saw: mantas on nearly every dive, hammerheads, schools of jack, and more whitetips than I know I’ll ever see again.
We have now identified over 300 individual white sharks in the bay that we dive in. And most astonishing of all, we had trips with 3 dive days in which we saw over 50 different great whites.
An unforgettable trip to Guadalupe to cage dive with Great Whites followed by diving with Sea Lions at Cedros/San Benedict then the Magnificent Mantas around the Socorro group.
We had Great Whites in Guadalupe, lots of California Sea Lions on the way down south, now Giant Mantas and Silky sharks and dolphins…all in one trip, and the best still lays ahead.
I’ve wanted to see Great White Sharks my whole life and took the plunge to see them in Guadalupe. It has exceeded my expectations 100 times over.
So far there are about 270 sharks in the identification book with around 30 new ones added each year as they are spotted and photographed.
We can’t imagine a better way to have celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary than spending a week on board the Nautilus Explorer, on a trip that supported the efforts of the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.
