Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2022-05-18

Today we are in roca partida, first dive with a lots of life, great visibility, strong current to the SW, big schools of yellow fin big and small tunas, lots of jacks, silkys, silvertips, Galapagos, and at least four or five mantas, two black mantas and one chevron. Second dive almost same conditions, medium current to the NW, great dive with too, chevron and black mantas, one mobula, a few hammerheads, silvertips, Galapagos, white tips huge lobsters, lots of jacks and yellow fin tunas and bonitos.

Today we have a light current running to the north, visibility is good. There is amazing manta action today in Roca Partida, not many sharks but the manta come and go, we saw four mantas at the same time also a mobula ray is going around and around, the blue-spotted jacks were hunting after the remoras on the mobula ray, I saw two getting eaten but the last one was too fast for the jacks.

Despite the visibility divers had an amazing first dive this morning, there was a pod of over 20 bottlenose dolphins, they were playful and stayed with the divers the whole dive, guests are loving Cabo Pearce and they want more, besides the dolphins, they also had a couple of mantas, Galapagos sharks and a handful of hammerhead sharks.
