The grey shape of a Great White, a male about 12’ in length, emerged under the bait line. It grew deceptively quickly in size and definition until the length of the shark breached the surface, jaws convulsing after the elusive bait, and then with a splash was gone again to the water.

We are excited to announce the launch of our new luxury coach, Shredder. Shredder is named after one of our beloved great white sharks that we haven’t seen in a while, unfortunately. Shredder is very distinctive due to his shredded (get it?!) dorsal fin, and we wanted to pay homage to him with our new vehicle.

I set my alarm for 6 am and almost considered going back to sleep, but I just couldn’t stand the excitement! I headed outside and I immediately saw sharks and couldn’t turn away for even a second! The day was amazing. The sharks gave all of us a show on the surface and in the deep cages, and we couldn’t get enough! The crew was so amazingly helpful at spotting, wrangling, and helping us do what feels most comfortable and exciting.

One of the first things the divemasters told us was, “This is a weird choice for a honeymoon.” However, my wife and I have had such a relaxing, yet exhilarating experience aboard the Nautilus UnderSea. Guadalupe Island has been such a nice getaway and the crew has provided a fun and safe environment for us. We love having the freedom to dive whenever we want to see the great white sharks up close.
