Read MoreOn the last day of diving at Roca Partida we had pretty much everything; lots of sharks, mantas, tunas schooling, dolphins, and a massive whale shark that just kept doing loops around the rock (we got to see it on three dives!).

Read MoreToday we had not only 4 amazing dives but the added adventure of a large chunk of whale floating past the boat. Normally I would not consider this a good thing but the 2m sq hunk of humpback whale was providing shelter and nourishment for a variety of fish. Our intrepid Captain Al took a few of us out to get a closer look (and smell unfortunately) in one of the ribs.
Read MoreDivemaster Ryan lucked out with the very best encounter of all when a large male humpback whale approached him underwater and hung out with him for a reported 20 minutes. Ryan could barely contain himself when he got back and reported that the whale was close enough to touch. How come I always seem to miss the best dives!?!
