Socorro Highlights Part 2

Our first 2 dives were at El Canyon. On the first one, our check-out dive, as soon as we got in the water, a group of five dolphins showed up and with them was the baby dolphin that we have been seeing on the last couple of trips. After the dolphins, we saw a couple hammerheads and three mantas that were swimming around us all the way to the safety stop.

Dive Day 2-3 get even better at Roca Partida, 3 different Whale Sharks altogether, Silkies, Hammers, crazy Mantas and Mobula actions and amazing time with Tunas, will this get better? I hope so, as the only missing thing on my list is Tiger Shark and Dolphins now.

Looking into the manta’s eye

The moment that my bubbles had cleared from my entering the water I realized that I was looking into the tennis ball sized eye of a 4.5-meter Giant Manta. We hung there together motionless, studying each other. I swear that the deeper you look into a manta’s eye the deeper it looks into your soul.

A chevron manta WOW moment!

Our big WOW MOMENT was swimming with a 12ft Chevron Manta, taking pictures and being in complete awe of her(?) when suddenly a whale shark appeared out of the blue. A juvenile everyone said. We all got a chuckle of how the manta reacted when the whale shark came in.
